So tired of referees affecting games

I’ve decided I’m going to apply to work in the replay booth any damn where in college football. The ignorance from this generation is comical. I watched a bogus holding call against Virginia Tech last night determine the game.

I just now watched Stanford fumble the ball, their player jumped on it pass the yard marker, the referee comes running up, grabs the ball and spots it back over a yard behind the stripe. They gave the ball to Clemson with turnover on downs. I’m watching this on YouTube TV and just replaying it and it’s easy to see yet our illustrious paid referees Can’t see it.

I was watching too. The booth said on 4th downs, if the ball is fumbled forward, and recovered by a different player, then the spot is returned to the spot of the fumble.

So I think it's a arules thing and not a blind thing this time.

That’s the point he was already passed the yard marker when he fumbled. It was as clear as the light of day and the replays in the slow motion and the video analysis showed the same thing. The ball was not fumbled on the 46 yard line it was fumbled at the 44. It was so easy to see.

I’m usually not one to criticize the officials but my son and I just had a conversation about it. I watch a lot of college football and I have seen more missed or outright bad calls this season. I know it’s difficult with today’s players to always get it right.
However, when a wrong or missed call directly affects the outcome it’s a shame.

My theory is that the refs are the fall guys in this mess. They seem to make the right call on the field and once they have to review it and call the conference officials, they somehow make a change. Seem like the conferences are trying to get as many teams in the playoffs as possible and when will dictate games to do so. Greed is all I see.
