Its not finalized. Goodell has the authority to appeal the 3rd party arbitrator. Allegedly the league office’s recommendation was a one year ban.

The NFL’s discipline policy is laughable. Sean Payton getting a whole year in 2012 for players getting a little cash for hitting qbs and Brady getting a 4 game suspension in 2015, successfully appealing then getting re suspended for 4 games in 2016 for potentially deflating footballs is still ridiculous

I agree with you, but the NFL isn't the one that suspended Watson. It was a person that both the NFL and NFLPA agreed to act as arbiter and make the final solution.

Yeah I should’ve said the discipline process and decision making in pro football is ridiculous

Actions that affect or could potentially affect the on-field product are always treated as more severe by leagues than off-field actions that are essentially (from the league's perspective) just bad PR

How is betting on your team to win going to change the outcome of the game?

Bump….NFL has officially appealed the suspension. NFLPA and Watson stated previously they would file suit if this happened. Grab your popcorn.
