Ford's probably not a bad coach...I didn't see them play tonight but saw a little bit of an earlier round game and wasn't that impressed with them.
The problem lately that Rick has had is that he hasn't had any leaders on the floor that know how to take control and calm the team down on the floor. Who were the leaders the past few years? Gordon and Rhodes both were the soundbites...but they don't seem to be universally respected on the team and team sure doesn't seem to rally around them.
Those type of guys make coaches sometimes...if Pearl didn't have Chris Lofton these past few years they would have excited the NCAA in the 1st round the past few years and he'd be Ricky 2.0 despite the other talent.
Ricky is not much of an offensive coach but for the most part his teams play hard on defense and that'll get you far. If he can just find that "glue" guy to be his coach on the floor I think he can bring in the surrounding talent.
However, I found this post perplexing when I first read it. I immediately flip to the bottom of the page and read up. I didn't see the new rule until after I had read this. Just saying. It could be true of Iron.
