looks like Sonny Gray is not having his best game, BUT he is not wilting under the pressure of a few base runners. UNC has a lot of hits and has had baserunners pretty much every inning but only 3 runs. Wish our pitchers would take note. He's apparently gotten out of multiple jams with minimal damage.

ETA: How many jams can Vandy get out of? UNC will be kicking theirselves after this one should they lose.

I would prefer that they fall flat on their faces. I would normally pull for the underdog in such an event, but its hard to root for a California team. I have always kinda liked A&M, though. I wish I had gone this year even though we fell a bit short. That new facility is extremely impressive. Can't wait to get out there in the next year or two.

I hated to see SC win it last year, too. Only SEC team I'll root for in baseball is LSU because we ain't never catching them (nobody is) in terms of a baseball program.

that an SEC team winning the CWS, NCAA Tournament, NC, or whatever the 17 it is, will do us absolutely no good whatsoever. It will only serve to push us down even further. Damn, I just do not understand that logic. Do you really think that AU winning the NC this year, or Bama winning it the year before helped MSU? Really? If UF or Vandy wins the CWS, do you nimrods actually think that will aid John Cohen in attracting recruits away from them and into Starkville? 17 the other SEC teams. They all need to get their asses beat. We are going to get our money regardless. Thats just the way it is. The big tv contracts are in place for a LONG time. We have 9 bowl tie-ins. That money is always going to come into the coffers. The other SEC teams winning those bowl games is irrelevant and helps us absolutely zero. Same with the CWS. Let Cal or A&M win it. I don't give a **** about any of the rest.

they are totally classless, deliberately tried to pick fights with our coaches and went out of their way to throw at and plunk CT Bradford in our series in Starkville. To hell with them.

the CWS will benefit our baseball program and make Cohen's job easier when it comes to attracting top talent to the program and ultimately getting our team to Omaha. Or Vandy for that matter. How will either of them winning the CWS help us to whip their asses next year? What benefit does a CWS championship for UF or Vandy provide for the MSU program? I am being serious. I have seen this same argument here ad nauseum and have never seen anyone provide me with a credible answer. My allegiance lies with one program and one program only. Mississippi State. If UM winning helps us in a particular situation, great. I will pull for them as hard as I can. Or anyone else in the SEC. But unless I can determine that there is a definite advantage, 17 'em. And in this case, there is a definite disadvantage for us. So double 17 'em.

the only counter argument i could think of is the fact that the perceived strength of our conference can be a benefit to MSU. I can see that as a benefit in recruiting as well as getting to postseason play. In recruiting, many players want to play in the best conference which could help us to get players who may look at say...a USM. I definitely think the fact that most view the SEC as the dominant baseball and football league, contributes to the league being able to get 7,8,9 teams in the regionals and in bowl games. But i get your point too, i just think it is not so black and white.
