Yeah. It's a tough road game, but in terms of SEC, it can only help us. We'll either go to Columbia having clinched the title or needing a point or three there to win the title.
Agreed. Assuming Arkansas wins out, out of the possible situations that could occur with us vs A&M and Kentucky, the only situation where the extra game potentially hurts us is if we win one and tie one*. In every other situation, the extra game would only help us. Plus, South Carolina is 19 ranked RPI, so a road game there should only help us with the committee.
*Just to show my math, if Arkansas wins out, they'll end up with 27 points. Divided by 10, that's 2.7 pts/game.
If we beat Kentucky and tie A&M (or vice versa), we'll end up with 25 points. Divided by 9, that's 2.7777 pts/game, so we win the conference regular season outright. Since we're playing 10 games, we would need to win the last game.
We beat A&M and Kentucky = we clinched the SEC regular season and an SC win helps with national seeding
We win one and lose one = We need to beat SC to win the SEC regular season.
We tie both = We finish second in the SEC and probably need to beat SC to keep our national seeding.
We lose both = We finish second or third (if Auburn wins out) in the SEC and need to beat SC and probably have a strong SEC Tourney run to keep our national seeding.
