we won it we were either an 8 or 7 seed, so I guess that kind of shows the parity in the SEC. There really are no weak programs in the conference from top to bottom.

Not taking anything away from Ole Miss, they've earned it.

trip to Omaha last year by winning, and I suspect you think they deserve the credit the accomplishment deserves. I couldn't watch or listen to the last three weeks of the season b/c of our poor play, but they are playing on Sunday in the SEC tourney. I highly doubt you thought MSU's trip to Omaha was unimpressive. "That's baseball."

Not trying to hedge and trying to be realistic, but this Rebel team won't win many games that are slugfests. With Baker going against LSU's 4th starter, I think our chances of winning tomorrow are pretty slim. I think we had a better chance against you guys in 2005 than we do tomorrow.

Edited to add: LSU is a probable national seed. We won't host under any circumstance. Tomorrow is just for a trophy.

to play in the championship game.

Yeah, they've earned it. It'll also be nice seeing two SECW teams playing for the SECT championship.

yeah, we were a 7 seed the year we beat ole miss in the championship. watching polk try to smile afterward was one of the post painful moments in college sports history.

We didn't need state to lose on Sunday of the last week. If anything we would've need yall to win. You did save us on the first two days though. Going into the last day OM controlled its own destiny and clinched it with a win nd not an MSU loss.

Married to a Dog is right. LSU will host and be a national seed win or lose today. Mississippi will go on the road next weekend win or lose. But they've definitely played their way from a bubble team to even make the tournament to a solid #2 seed.

I agree, and the other thing not noted is that they announce host sites today before the championship game. Therefore the championship game has nothing to do with hosting/not hosting. It will have a slight effect possibly on the overall seeding, since they announce that Monday, but that's it. LSU is going to be a national seed for sure. We're going to probably be a 2 seed on the road somewhere. If they do for some odd reason give us a host spot as a 2 seed, it'll be a bunch of ********, because we won't deserve it.

way I see OM hosting is if they give Vandy's host spot to OM. I think they should based on OM beat Vandy 4 of 5 games they played, and I think OM draws better than Vandy. That part I don't know about. I thought Vandy had a dinky little stadium but they hosted last year so I don't know.

LSU, Georgia and either Florida or South Carolina (or possibly both) will host.</p>

which may be absolutely nothing. But the host committee is delaying the regional announcements until 6pm tonight. McCready claims "<font size="2">It's becoming readily apparent that Ole Miss is one of a handful of schools in the mix to host regionals as a No. 2 seed."

<font size="3">I'll approach this like I am the Powe situation. I'll believe it when I see it. I guess crazier things have happened, though. I'm just glad we didn't die on the vine and will probably get to play in a regional that is within a reasonable driving distance.

Which is an absolute crock, and we all know it.

How is it that UGA gets to be a national seed with a 35-25 record, but a 40 win Vandy team is just hoping to host? I understand UGA is on a roll right now, and won 8 out of 10 SEC series, but they're still 35-25.

It should be LSU and Vandy with a chance at a national seed, but not guaranteed on either.

I agree, Ole Miss will travel.</p>

With 34 wins, FLORIDA?

UGA 35-25? Really?
Pre-SEC Tourney: 35-19-1
They were also the overall SEC Regular Season Champions at 20-9-1
they went 0-2 and a bbq in hoover: 35-21-1 (McClure is that you?)

With your logic: Kentucky should be hosting as well as they had 41 wins going into the SEC tournament, but wait your argument will be but they only won 16 regular season league games so they shouldnt host but that is "1" more victory to your all deserving Vandy team......so then you will say UK shouldnt host because their players are mean and will yell: WOOOO and make someone's nice boys cry

you sir are a fuctard</p>

you think lsu is still kinda iffy on the national seed. they're one of the hottest teams in the country and have been playing that way ofr over a month now. not to mention they're in the sec and i believer uga is 35-19 overall? could be wrong on that?

*edited to add: lsu is 39-16. seriously. think about it.

but I don't think it is entirely outlandish. They are sitting at #11 in the RPI and are projected to be the #1 seed at a northern regional by Sebaseball.

I actually think it is just going to be LSU and Georgia hosting this year.

Wow that was poor. You fail.

You also have to look at SOS and RPI.

Vandy has a better RPI and SOS.</p>

had Florida hosting going into this week. They have certainly played their way out of that.

But their warrenolan rpi is 11. They would host way before ole miss. In fact sebaseball still has Florida as a 1 seed.

that lost more conference series than they won hosts, then that is a joke.

If a 2 hosts, its likely a northern team.

.......on losing another meaningful game that could have validated the claims that OM baseball is the premier program in state.

I guarantee one thing.....if Polk had lost multiple hosted supers, played poorly enough to earn a 8 seed in the SECT, and lost in the championship game, there would be bitching about how the State program is no more.

Oh really? Might want to take a look at your first post there buddy........all you said was 40 wins....didnt state any other criteria as why Vandy should host.....
I was just going by the logic you were obviously using: Wins
