Good article! I remember him well. I don't think that my kids have any sense of reading good journalism and it saddens me to think they missed out. I'm sure it's still out there, but the amount of crap you'd have to wade through online to find it seems insurmountable. Thank you for contributing to this site!

Thoroughly enjoyed it! Dr. Don Trotter PhD, Electrical Engineering at MSU was the smartest man I ever met. Don't know how he would do with chess. I once went to talk with him about strobing a keyboard with a microcontroller and he referred me to two books. He told me the name of the books, the author of each and then told me the page number and paragraph where the information could be found. I went and got the books and voila just as he said. I believe he had an eidetic memory. He finished MSU, Texas and Stanford with perfect 4.0 GPA on his way to his PhD.
