I think we should jump in public fountains after every win.I’ll be honest. I am not a fan of this or the court storming. Not because I’m “worried for the safety of players or students,” but more because I honestly wasn’t extremely surprised that we won. Now, I didn’t expect to win by 17 points, but anyone who has actually been watching faithfully knew this team had all the potential to beat UK even before the game last night. So, I’m not a fan simply because I reserve court storming and jumping in public fountains for wins that pretty dang near close to nobody saw coming. Flame away if you wish.
I get the whole "act like you've been there before" argument. But that's easy for my 50-year old self to say because you wouldn't see me jumping in a fountain if the Gamecocks had won the national championship last night. But these are college kids having fun. By definition, they haven't been there before. And I suspect last night's experience likely raised the threshold for what is "fountain-worthy" for them moving forward. Of all the potentially inappropriate ways that college kids can enjoy themselves, storming a basketball court or jumping in the coliseum fountain after a big win doesn't bother me much.I’ll be honest. Well said. 100% agree.I get the whole "act like you've been there before" argument. Seizing the moment - never know if you'll get another opportunity. It's the college way. Remember the days.I have no problem with this. It does seem a little overkill for a regular season game.
Exactly, I did a lot of things I thought were really important at that age and now I realize they weren't a big deal. Some people can't stand the idea of other people having fun.Seizing the moment - never know if you'll get another opportunity. It's the college way. Remember the days.
