How are we tied with Arkansas for 1st place when we have a head-to-head victory over them, the same number of conference wins and a better conference winning percentage than them?

Those standings are currently listed alphabetically by team with the same number of "points". They're not actually higher than us in the standings. The announcers during yesterday's game said we hold the tiebreaker over Arkansas (obviously) and are in first place in the conference.

For reference, look at the cluster of teams that all have 9 points.

I do t know how the SEC does it but in most soccer leagues you get three points for a win and one for a draw. The tiebreaker is goal difference.

Looks like a win is 3 points and a tie is 1 point. They probably have them first because we are tied with 18 points each and "A" comes before "M" alphabetically

We have also played one less match, which throws the table off a bit. It has already been stated if we are unable to reschedule the South Carolina match, the champion will be determined by average points per game played.

New Coaches Poll on Tuesday (expect No. 3)
NCAA Top 16 on Thursday (expect top 4)
at Ole Miss on Friday (expect pain)

Also, if teams finish the SEC regular season tied, they are co-champs. There's no tiebreaker for the regular season standings, but they are used for tournament seeding.

We're not tied. Since we've played unequal number of games, and it appears the South Carolina game won't be made up, they'll go with points per game played. Right now, we're 3.00 and Ark is 2.50. Ironically, if we lose a game and they win out, head to head won't matter since they'd get us on points per game played.

You can read about the regular season and post season formats here (including tie breakers):

TLDR Version:

1) Top 12 point scoring teams will play in the SEC Tournament. Seeding is determined by total number of points scored during the season. Win = 3 pts; Tie = 1 pt; Loss = 0 pts.

UNLESS

2) If a game is cancelled (State v SCAR this year), seeding will be determined by points scored per games played.

3) If there's a two team tie, head-to-head record will be used as the tiebreaker.
