It was meant to be.

But seriously, good pickup for Paris. Guy has played A LOT of basketball, and put up solid numbers. Also doesn't hurt bringing a former Dorman guy into the program.

I don't know anything about him. Per ESPN, started at Morehead State and played 3 seasons. Played last season at Minnesota. Not a big scorer...career average 8.6 ppg...9.9 ppg for Minnesota last season. Plays a lot of minutes.

Started every game for Minnesota last season, but they sucked worse than us, 9-22 (2-17).

Think we'll need to pick up some higher caliber transfers to see on-court improvement.

He's a point guard that finished top ten in the nation with 6.3 assists per game and also right at 38% on 3's. Looks like a solid get to me. We're not quite at the point of picking and choosing top prospects at this point, but he appears to be a very good distributor.

I hope so.

Exactly...now we just need to find a scorer he can distribute to. But he seems to do a good job at creating opportunities.

When I was young and poor, I used to buy a lot of recaps. I couldn't afford new tires. I was doing the best I could but several of those recaps separated on me and the ones that didn't came up way short in terms of mileage.

You are not very talented at picking recaps. I know a several guys that picked the correct recaps. Several separated but the balance were solid.

I must be as talented as your guys. I said that, among mine, "several separated". But I was working alone.

You said several separated but the others came up way short in mileage. My guy had several separate but the balance were SOLID. You appear to be short on talent : )

He immediately fits into the lineup with Meechie, Gray and Wright which should give us 4 starters going into the season. He and Meechie should provide a lot of team leadership on the court. #7 in the nation in assists. He more or less will be Chico's replacement. Here are the 22-23 stats on the two.

Carter:
Games Played: 25
Minutes: 30.7
FG%: 47.1
3P%: 47.6
FT%: 63
Reb: 1.8
Ast: 1.6
Stl: 1.6
TO: 1.6
Pts: 9.8

Cooper:
Games Played: 31
Minutes: 36.6
FG%: 39.5
3P%: 37.8
FT%: 61.4
Reb: 4.0
Ast: 6.3 (7th in nation in assists)
Stl: 1.1
TO: 2.7
Pts: 9.8

You said SOLID after you made reference to several separating, with no specific mention of mileage. "Solid" could have meant not liquid. At any rate, I must have had something going for me, in that I graduated to premium tires on nicer vehicles in due course - as in 50-plus years ago.

You know I was only joking. Was certainly not taking a shot at your intelligence. I was only trying to make a point that some retreads work out.

Very good...a 4-star pickup and the 2nd 4-star pickup with Murray-Boyles. And Conyers appears to be a good pickup as well, rated the #53 Shooting Guard in the nation and #251 overall player in the nation. By the way, the 247 service ranks Conyers even higher as the 45th Shooting Guard in the nation and the #215 overall player in the nation. It looks at this time, to me, that Lamont is, thus far, getting the job done in recruiting.

And I understand we may have a Finnish player coming also.

I suspect most of today's "young and poor" don't even know what you're talking about when you say "recaps."

Hey, Recap. Tell me about it……had several pairs on my VW……but the bummer was driving in Atlanta traffic when I noticed a bump feeling in left front bumper in pumper stop traffic……..made it to ballgame, thinking maybe sitting willl help……the slowest return trip in my life☹️

Agreed. As well as can be expected. I think the GG experiment was a good thing for Paris. His first year was going to be difficult regardless, but having to spend it grooming someone for the NBA had to be difficult. Hard to build a team when so much focus revolves around one player. You see it in the NBA all the time. LA is better without LeBron than with him. No knock on LeBron, they just play better team ball without him.

Cooper is a great get for a hole we needed to fill. Would love to pick up a solid PF. Can't wait to see who we land next.
