Would it be surprising if he doesn't retain Knox? Obviously, it's Lebby's decision, but it just seems to make sense to me given Knox's history and knowledge of MS recruiting.

I know very little about other teams coaches, so I had to look up these latest hires, and I like what I'm seeing. I'm guessing he'll hire a dc before hiring position coaches.

Jon Cooper looks to be the new OL coach. TE will have a separate coach thank goodness. I brought that up last year and was assured plenty of teams had 2 OL coaches. Which is BS. He will coach centers guards and tackles...lol

And the portal is open to players who have been through a coaching change. Thats the only reason our guys can apply to the portal.

From FootballScoop....

Sources tell FootballScoop that Lebby on Thursday dismissed Brett Dewhurst, Tony Hughes, Matt Brock, Eric Mele and and Darcel McBath.

If we let that many go he must have a bunch of dudes lined up. Expected anyway just want to make sure you have the replacement lined up before you hire a bunch at one time

I assume this means a DC has been hired or is very close. Seems logical they'd say I want Turner but am brining my other guys so get rid of anyone else.

Saw Lebby re-tweeted a corner that he offered today and the kid mentioned Mcbath in the tweet. So I guess Mcbath is sticking around also?

It’s been three days. Relax
Wasn't this one of the BIG complaints of how the last staff was filled out? Position coaches hired before the OC was.
I realize this is a little different in that the HC will have a direct hand in the O and he may have an agreement with the future OC that they can not announce at this time, but it still makes you nervous until it actually happens.

If that is the case, the lack of defensive coaches may mean that DC really is still up in the air.

I'm sure there is a grad assistant or defensive analyst at Oklahoma he knows***
