That's pretty fair. If I want to stand and nobody around is standing, I usually just wait until one of those big moments and everybody stands. Then i just don't sit down....be a leader. It's funny to see how many people will keep standing just b/c others are.I think it's fine to stand, but I also think it's rude to expect anyone sitting behind you to have to stand as well. If the people behind are sitting, then I think it's good manners just to sit as well. Exceptions include actual celebratory moments. If those folks choose not to stand at those times, then they have to accept they are likely in the minority.
It could be that the others just want to be able to see. Standing just for the sake of standing at games has never made sense to me.That's pretty fair. It's far worse to complain about everyone else standing up while you prefer to stay seated. Is it okay to stand when everyone else around you is sitting?
I didnt pay all that money for the ticket to look at your asscrack......sit downIs it okay to stand when everyone else around you is sitting?
I generally can't sit still. Especially if I'm anxious, which I find myself in most games. So I stand. I stand at home when I'm watching on TV too. Not the whole game, but a lot. If someone behind me asks nicely if I could sit down so they could see I would with no problem. It could be that the others just want to be able to see. If we suck then people who hate fans standing up will be able to see the field better while sitting.I generally can't sit still. Especially if I'm anxious, which I find myself in most games. And that applies to the theater also, I imagine. My thought is, if you purchase a ticket you should do what you want
Makes sense that some of our football fans think football games should be enjoyed in the same manner as theater... don't forget your parasols and opera glasses! And that applies to the theater also, I imagine.
I don't really go along with the idea of a person being able to do anything they want. What's wrong with common courtesy and consideration? Why have we developed into a society with such rudeness. My thought is, if you purchase a ticket you should do what you want
You can't make sense out of standing when everyone else in the vicinity is sitting. That was the premise of the OP.Makes sense that some of our football fans think football games should be enjoyed in the same manner as theater... don't forget your parasols and opera glasses!

Dang straight. Step on as many people as you can. While you're at it, go ahead and open your door into the vehicle next to you in the parking lot. After all, both of y'all are between your lines but aren't you entitled to the entire extent to which your door can open? I mean, isn't it all about "you"?Hat (parasol) check
Binoculars (opera glasses) check
Umbrella (to make sure that no one behind you can see) check
After all, you paid for your tickets.
I paid for this parking space dammit!Dang straight. Step on as many people as you can. While you're at it, go ahead and open your door into the vehicle next to you in the parking lot. Between the lines?? I take up 2 spots.Dang straight. Step on as many people as you can. While you're at it, go ahead and open your door into the vehicle next to you in the parking lot. If you buy them both, that's good. I've got a vehicle I'm trying to protect.Between the lines?? I take up 2 spots.
Oh, don't you just love it when some *** decides to take up more than one space when spaces are hard to come by? Or, when traffic is baked up and somebody decides to nose into the next lane and blocking everybody behind them from passing? And, the worst of all is somebody in the checkout lane ahead of you that has to get at least 3 price checks because they think it was priced wrong. If you buy them both, that's good. I've got a vehicle I'm trying to protect.
I've always said we don't execute enough people in the United States.Oh, don't you just love it when some *** decides to take up more than one space when spaces are hard to come by? Mission accomplished. Not quite the same but, my wife and I were at a Rafa Nadal match at the French Open and a woman sitting directly in front of us was wearing a very large hat blocking our (and others) view. After several minutes of not being able to see the action I asked her to remove it. She got up and left and didn't return.
