Hearing noise about BIGLY contribution or at least commitmentThis is the first slice of the **** sandwich. Friday will be the ****. Then Saturday will be another announcement that's positive.
I am willing to make a giant commitment contingent on us exceeding Vegas win/loss totals for the next 5 seasonsHearing noise about BIGLY contribution or at least commitment
I suspect if my donation had 3 more zeros at the end, they would have worked with me more. Actually even 2 more zeros.Funny how this post appears after patdog’s mentioning that the Excellence Fund not accepting designated gifts in the Least Nervous thread…
I am assuming we are not wanting to mess with the accounting and/or are worried about title IX, but it just seems insane that we’d turn down money at this point. I don’t have money to spare for any sport other than football, men’s basketball, or baseball. Get the bigwigs donating big dollars to give uncommitted dollars if you need to. Don’t just turn away money though.Funny how this post appears after patdog’s mentioning that the Excellence Fund not accepting designated gifts in the Least Nervous thread…
Exactly. If your job is to raise money, you don’t turn donations down.I am assuming we are not wanting to mess with the accounting and/or are worried about title IX, but it just seems insane that we’d turn down money at this point. They should just say they can designate where your money goes and just put it into the pot.I am assuming we are not wanting to mess with the accounting and/or are worried about title IX, but it just seems insane that we’d turn down money at this point. A different take:Exactly. If your job is to raise money, you don’t turn donations down.
Obviously there are some donations you just don’t take. But a sport specific NIL donation with no other strings is one you should take every time.A different take:
Yes, it’s the job of development and alumni relations units to raise money.
However, it is leadership’s job to determine what money to accept. Not all donations are have equal strings, and there could be a long-term encumbrance to said donations — a “cost of ownership” if you will
(Of course, some universities can’t say “no” to anyone. This is why higher education has become more ivory tower than ever)
In today's NIL world, that's not that much. But, but, but we pour as hail
This should keep us positioned comfortably. Top 35 nationally in terms of total NIL resources. Number 15/16 SEC.This is the first slice of the **** sandwich. Friday will be the ****. Then Saturday will be another announcement that's positive.
Taking a sport specific nil donation is hardly cumbersome. It’s not like people are asking to designate their money for a left handed defensive end.A different take:
