About time. But if Steelers retire all the numbers from there great teams they will have to start numbers at 100.

I don't think the Steelers ever retired numbers before this.
They have a bunch of unofficially retired numbers and 32 was one of them. Bradshaw 12, Franco 32, Bettis 36, Troy P. 43, Blount 47, Webster 53, Lambert 58, Ham 59, Ernie Holmes 63, LC Greenwood 68, and Hines Ward 86 have not been handed out since that player has worn it. They won't hand these numbers out. I am sure 7 is now on the list too. They have no problem handing out 82 and 88, though.

It’s about time… but I prefer the ring of honor as opposed to retiring a number. Why not just retire the name, and then the Steelers couldn’t ever have someone named Harris?

Don't they have a player named Najee Harris? Would they just trade him?
