Dude hast to watch 4 hours of film OUTSIDE of team film sessions. Additionally, He can’t watch while distracted. However the vague article uses the term “good faith” so I wonder how enforceable it is. Regardless, does this says some sort of something about Murray and his “dedication”? How about does it say he doesn’t study film at all, and yet he’s this good? Lot to be inferred here.

I know he's getting paid a **** ton of money, but how does he let that get added to the contract. That's the kind of thing that 1) looks unflattering and 2) is the kind of look that can affect perceptions and potential future contracts, both football and endorsement related.

What a commentary this is on the state of sports. Usually contracts require the athlete to refrain from: drug use, dangerous activities, etc. To have a contract specify that the athlete MUST prepare is telling. Let's give this dude tens of millions each year but make sure he prepares for his coaches, teammates and team. While the NFL is big business, it's show business, not real business. If you want to know what sets Tom Brady apart these days, here is exhibit 1.

When I saw this, I immediately thought, "why the hell did they extend him if this is such a big issue?" It smacks of "bust," IMO. I get that the franchise took him #1 overall the year after taking Rosen at #10. They almost had to resign him to save face with fans.

But my goodness, you have a $230M athlete who doesn't want to do a little extra? That says it all.

and this is exactly what my thought about it all is. you're telling me that you're giving him THAT much money and you have questions about his professionalism??? I get it we're talking about a 24 year old young man, so there are bound to be SOME maturity issues but this is.... this is a little much. but it just goes to show that the almighty dollar runs everything nowadays. "we can manage him through his contract but he puts a$$e$ in seats. PAY HIM"

It seems to be a key theme with many young QBs: Murray, Lamar, Baker, Darnold, Wentz, etc.

The theme seems to be “adulting” and putting in the work that comes with being an NFL franchise QB.

In the end, I fault these owners for doling out this kind of money on guys who don’t put in the work and refuse to be coached.
