Stoops won’t be fired tonight. But what about Hamdan?

How is rayner playing bad? He generally is where he is supposed to be, he’s only missed three tackles the whole year that I can think of which is Lower than pretty much lower than everybody else on the defense and has only let up one pass in the pass game.
Stats can sometimes be misleading. The guy is built like Cutter Boley trying to play MLB in the SEC. It's no wonder why our run defense has gone to s*** the past couple of seasons.

You think it is all Stoops but we did quite well under Gran and Cohen (54-35) . A huge gap in success between those two and the rest (25-40). Did Stoops just not feel like sabotaging those two?
Look at the competition during those years. We were playing a down Tennessee, S Carolina, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Florida, Miss State for half of Stoops' tenure and Louisville. All those programs have stepped their games up while Stoops quit trying about four years ago.

I just listened to the KSR podcast where Van Hiles called out Rayner saying he was responsible for three or four of those third down conversions that USCe got in the 1st quarter. I knew Rayner didn't pass the eye test but Hiles was actually laughing because Rayner was so bad. I kept wondering who Watson was on defense and it finally registered with me that he was playing for Rayner. I think we need Watson's size in there because Rayner looks like a free safety out there.

The previous one is now an nfl head coach. So lets not act like this bad hire is a pattern.

Stoops made this bed though when he canned scang and rehired coen when he knew coen would only be here a year. After about 3 games, coen started looking for jobs.

We need stability there its true, but it cant be bush.
But But But, Coen double secret pinky promised him he was going to stay.

Anyone who believed that the second time was a fool. Honestly i think stoops didn't care. You literally get the hottest name in all of football for another year, i understand taking that because its so rare. However i do think keeping scang was the better long term move.

All that said, if he hires someone competent after coen ditches us the second time, its a non issue. Like i posted way back then, uk should've been actively pursuing ocs that entire season since there was zero chance he would stay.

Stoops has an amazing track record with oc hires.

Neal Brown - long time hc
Shannon Dawson - one of the hottest ocs in the nation at Miami
Eddie Gran - took this program from on the cusp to bowl games and heights way beyond what we thought capable.
Liam Coen - now an nfl head coach just two years after his last stint.
Scangarello - won 7 games with virtually zero OL talent, a head case qb, two true freshman wrs.

Bush was the first one I thought was bad and posted as much soon as he was hired.
Just to clarify BBI…Scang had Levis in 2022, are you saying Levis was head case?

Decent chance he misses the flight home, IMO.
Who would call plays, Stoops? Been told by a donor that has been around UK football for years and goes to practices that Stoops OC’s call their plays. I just think Hamdan is a bad OC and a bad hire. Also having RS freshman lead the team is another problem with Hamdan’s offense. I love Cutter but he is not going to excel in this offense.

Should have never removed Eddie Gran imo. The revolving door could have been avoided completely. I feel pretty confident we would be better off on the whole if Gran were still running the offense.
