Story: Penn State football QB Sean Clifford explains his decision to return for 2022

Snooooooze.... someone wake me up when our offense will be electrifying. On a serious note, if I'm investing in a NIL contract with any Penn State player, I'm going to go after that player who could potentially make the biggest impact in the future. Get a good deal early and hopefully they pan out to what the expectations are. For example, I get Allar signed in now (as I believe that is the future of the PSU program). I like Sean, I think he is a good kid, I just don't see any value in his return. I get he wants two consecutive years with an OC, or maybe to end on a better note than he did this year. I honestly can't see that happening. I could be wrong, but if I'm MY, I am actually allocating more of my time and energy into the next QB for the future of the offense. Maybe I'm way off track, just not as excited to have the big red dog back next year. Maybe others are... IDK

Really, the only people whose opinions and thoughts matter are the coaches and players. The coaches appear excited to have him back as a mentor for Allar, Pribula and Villeaux. The receivers are excited to have him back as they are familiar with each other and that helps breed success. Both Allar and Pribula have stated that they are looking forward to learning from him. Regardless, if you think Clifford was the reason our offense wasn’t dynamic, or even very productive, last season, you are barking up the wrong tree.

Wake up. We don’t want electrifying. We want explosive.

SC seems like a good kid and he's returning, whether some fans like it or not, so I'm really pulling for SC to have a great season. If he does really well, the team should benefit.
When he is 100% (which has been an issue), he is a very good QB. his coming back has some benefits for the team, and can be a good thing if handled well by MY and the staff. I think the wrong way to handle this is to have SC be given the keys and turn them in next January, and nobody else drove the car. We have to see CV, BP and DA all be given good opportunities to play. It would be a mistake to be sitting here next year at this time, and we start a QB competition among the 3 QB's, and possibly another that has been recruited.

The best indication of how this may play out will be the bowl game. with nothing on the line, we should see CV with some real game action. If we see SC wire to wire in that game, that is one indicator of how next year might be handled. hope that I am wrong, but I have a feeling we will not see CV short of SC being taken off on a stretcher.

You are proposing that all 4 QBs get playing time next year? Really? I agree with some of the other posters. Clifford isn’t Trevor Lawrence or Josh Fields. He is however a pretty good QB who was playing well until he got hurt. He also would benefit from a good OL and running game. For all that he is not, you have to go pretty far down the list to get to him as the problem with the offense this year IMO.

What explanation is needed? He is not an NFL QB and doesn’t want to get a job.

When Sean throws off his back foot and is set, he throws a nice ball. That's easier said than's been done

Said this myself last week, does his return help, sure, he's a decent College QB, nothing special, if this is a bridge until one of the youngsters is ready, so be it.

Makes you wonder why NFL teams don't play 3-4 QBs. Actually, no it doesn't.
