Do any of you have the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle? I recently paused my YouTubeTV to try out the bundle hoping to still be able to watch all of our games and ESPN games through this platform, but noticed that if something is being shown on just ESPN/ESPN2 or SECN, that I cant watch it through ESPN+. My assumption going into this was that all ESPN content would be available through the ESPN+ account, but now I am worried that that may not be the case. If any of you have this, have you been able to see all of our games regardless of platform? Will also add that so far I am not a fan of the total package, but made the move in an attempt to try and save a little money each month, and have a 3 yo so thought Disney might come in handy. And, ESPN has got to be the worst streaming platform out there. It never seems to work as it should and the interface is not aesthetically pleasing either. The other night I was watching one of the Super Regional games, and it would play for a few minutes and then go to a screen telling me that my event would begin shortly... it was extremely frustrating. That was when I tried to view it through ESPN instead of ESPN+ through the app, and it told me that I did not have access. Thats what got me thinking about the above question.

I'm pretty sure that you can't watch ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU/SECN on the ESPN app without a subscription to a streaming service like Hulu Live, YouTubeTV, etc. To watch that content, you have to login through that service provider on the ESPN app to verify.

ESPN+ is separate content

You have to have a valid TV subscription to watch the ESPN family of networks not including ESPN+.

You could "upgrade" your Disney/Hulu/EPSN+ bundle to include Live TV, and that would get you your ESPN/ESPN2 content in addition to the ESPN+ that is available through the bundle. Also, you can usually watch the ESPN+ content through the Hulu app without having to actually log in to the ESPN app on your TV.

Nice try but that’s not how it works. You still gotta pony up for a streaming service, cable, etc for ESPN content. They damn sure aren’t going to give you all of that for a less than $20 bundle.

So... some content is only available on the ESPN family of networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, etc.) and some content is only available on ESPN+ and some content is available on both.

For example, right now, SportsCenter is on ESPN and only available through ESPN. You need to have a subscription to a cable/satellite/streaming provider that includes ESPN if you want to watch the currently running episode of SportsCenter, even if you want to watch it through the ESPN app.

The Pat McAfee show is on ESPN+ and only available through ESPN+. You need to have a subscription to ESPN+ or one of the Disney bundles that includes ESPN+ if you want to watch it through the ESPN app.

On Friday at 1:00 pm, Virginia vs North Carolina will air on ESPN, but will also be available simultaneously through ESPN+. You need to have a subscription to a cable/satellite/streaming provider that includes ESPN OR you need a subscription to ESPN+ or one of the Disney bundles that includes ESPN+if you want to watch it through the ESPN app.

Also, broadcast rights are generally determined by the home team. For the past few years (and assumedly for the foreseeable future), outside of a few exceptions (like 1 home game vs FCS) or when they're part of a special event or postseason tournament, SEC home games have NOT been available on ESPN+. Big 12, Sun Belt, AAC, and a handful of others have either all or most of their home games on ESPN+.

So, if you want to see all of Mississippi State's football games this season, you're going to need an ESPN package through a satellite/cable/streaming provider OR through the new VENU or ESPN OTT packages when they become available.

Can you please call my 68 yr old father and explain this to him because I've tried for a couple years now and still get calls about "Why the 17 can't I watch the such-and-such game"

I’ve tried piecing services together but never fully satisfied. I got Direct TV Stream a couple of months ago and I’m pleased. Not the cheapest but I said screw it. Be happy.

If espn ever goes to a stand-alone service the live tv service will die and they know it. If you want college football you're stuck with a live service or you can pirate them like I do (all those service don't offer outside the US so it's my only option).

"Cable" was never going out quietly. ESPN is their last stand.
