Stunned. Just…stunned. Part II

Well, my emotions largely mirror that from the Missouri game. Simply stunned. We were not playing a very good game overall. Seemed to find little rhythm on offense. Defensively, Clemson’s receivers were consistently finding space. The turnover bug reared its ugly head after taking a hiatus for the most part in the past few games. Untimely penalties were hurting us again.

It just didn’t “feel” like it was meant to be our day. We were mostly playing uninspired. Even though Clemson was only up 7, it felt like nothing was going our way and that they were just a play or 2 away from breaking things open.

Opened the game with a fumble. False start on 3rd and 11 in a do-or-die situation at the end of the game. It all just added up to a classic Gamecock display of falling short.

Even after we scored to take the lead, Clemson promptly marched down to the red zone with us offering little resistance. Had a “here we go again” sense to it.

But this Gamecock doesn’t seem to know or care about our history.

Winning when you don't play your best is the sign of an inspired and committed team refusing to accept defeat.
This team has impressed me!

Yep. I’ve done this long enough at age 53 to just feel it all going to nothing. I still can’t believe we had the ball with a chance to win the way the whole game had gone. And then, holy cow, Sellers just ran wild. And I kept telling my kids, Clemson is in exactly the same spot we were against Mizzou. I completely expected them to score a TD. Good thing I’m not a coach, or player, or motivational speaker 😂
