those Memphis fans just new it was over with at the 2 minute mark.

That's Mr. Choke to you, Joey Dorsey!

My only question is would the crime spree that would take place on the streets of Memphis after a win be any worse that the one that will come after tonights choke?

What about the crime spree that's about to kick off in San Antonio? CBS panned the Memphis fans and it looks like they brought their own gun and knife show to Texas.

However you left off how they will all call in and put the entire blame on Calipari. It won't be the fault of those wonderful citizen student athletes. It wouldn't be the fact that all Memphis fans stated that it didn't matter if these kids missed their free throws.

They forget the years with Price and Finch. Without Calipari's recruiting prowess they would suck at everything.

That always cracks me up, especially last night during postgame when they kept referring to the Memphis "student athletes", especially considering that I'm sure at least 3 of the 4 guys on the podium, if not all 4, were majoring in University College, Memphis's athlete major.

Sports 56 will again be listenable. The last couple weeks have been unbearable. It has been nothing but people calling in to fellate the Tigers lately. That will now be over, which will allow me to flip the switch back to 56 on occasion.

was a bad coach's decision. However, missing 6-9 instead of 5-9 from the FT line down the stretch and Memphis wins. It was a great game.

Calipari said in the postgame that they were trying to foul on that last play. They just didn't get it called for them, so it wasn't a missed coaching decision on that one.

I will say that there were at least 4 or 5 blatant calls by the refs that I remember that went in Kansas' favor. The first that comes to mind is when CDR got his 3rd foul for tripping Brandon Rush (somewhere mid to late 2nd half) when Rush just flat out slipped on a drive towards the basket. CDR wasn't within a foot of Rush when he fell. Another that comes to mind was fairly early in the 2nd half I think. A Memphis player was blocking out Rush on a rebound. As the ball came off the rim, Rush jumped and put his hand on the other player's back and pulled him down. There were several other blatant over the back calls on rebounds that should have been called against Kansas. None of the calls came at the end with the game on the line though, so they didn't decide the game so to speak.

All that said, I'm fine with the outcome of the game. I can't stand Memphis. And, the bottom line is, they had 4 or 5 missed FTs in the last 1:30 or so that would have iced the game & they had their two best FT shooters on the line & they choked.

Oh there is going to be some crying about the officiating by Tiger fans as soon as the dust settles on the shock of the loss. But the refs swallowed the whistle on a few of memphis' potential calls too. If Memphis would have been T'd up on slamming the ball on the floor then Kansas could have won it right there in regulation.

I said when watching the game that the refs were letting them play and I liked it. Let them decide it on the floor and not by the whistle in a game of this caliber.</p>

the officials let them play for the most part. CDR was lucky they didn't T him up for that. Overall, the game was pretty well officiated & consistent. However, there were, in my opinion, more calls or non calls in KS favor than in Memphis' favor. Like I said originally, I'm happy with the outcome and I don't think the officiating decided the game for either team & Memphis should have hit FTs down the stretch and they would be killing people in joy instead of anger in the River City.
