Yeah, if you could get a switch pitcher, you could save a roster spot. You would have your Friday nite and Sunday afternoon starter.

That's a good point. Would it be possible for them to injure both of his arms before the season started?

Just in case you were wondering. They both went rightie and he struck out swinging. See the ESPN highlight.

I seem to remember a story about this in college last season. This must be the same guy because he's from Creighton and that's the school I remember the story coming from. If memory serves me, after some switching back and forth like that, they made the pitcher declare which arm he would use, then they went from there.

Evidently, if they both went rightie, that's not what happened there. I was just curious what the ruling was...

The ESPN guys didn't elaborate, but the guy swung at a pitch that was "just a bit outside." I didn't pick up on this when watching the original clip. It was 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, so all of that was delaying a game that was basically over.

the pitcher, if he is amphibious (not serious) has to declare whether he will pitch right or left before the at bat.</p>
