Has anyone else noticed that T&L and Out of Left Field are starting to sound like the same message/ideas/thoughts/phrases/takes/etc on the same day? I havent noticed this being a thing until about a month ago. I wonder which group is listening to the other group's podcast first to get their content for the day from. Need to get back to some originality and sense of own ideas/thoughts. Either way, I still appreciate the free content on my drives to work and am thankful for what those guys do.

No. The two aren't remotely the same.

Out of Leftfield has insightful, well thought out points. Often given with stats or facts sighted.

T&L is basically two fans with knee jerk reactions that you can read on any message board.

Its comparing the adult table to the kids table.

It’s just a sign that they’re toting water for the University with their talking points.
Agree but there's always going to be an element of that, especially early in a coach or AD's tenure. And in that same vein, it's hard for me to listen because I think we made massive mistakes on both of them.

To me - when you aren't doing well - there's only so many ways you can skin a cat.

One pod sticks to the subjects at hand, whatever sports in season. The other pod talks about 'rasslin which isn't a sport and has one overly sensitive host that gets bent out of shape easily

I actually enjoy both due to them being slightly different in terms of takes and content, but I will say that one has decidedly more ad reads peppered throughout the show than a year ago. I mean... I get it, but much like the season, it's becoming a grind

You should try using a podcast app that lets you fast forward if it bothers you that the free content you're consuming is generating revenue in other fashions for the hosts.

I’m not knocking the existence of ads. I’m pointing out that what used to be a quick 3-4 minute skip at the beginning of the show is now that + a mooove on over + no coffee + bell building and so on…

I love the show and will keep listening every day regardless, but it’s honest feedback. The HBO with ads model is not one than consumers tend to love

At least Hadad makes the ad reads entertaining.

It’s not HBO though. If you were paying the same $15/month for the podcast that you do for HBO you could complain about ads all you wanted. 1️⃣
Brian isn’t some guy doing this in his free time. He’s (I presume) a full-time employee of his for-profit employer. That employer’s only incentive to pay Brian is to make money from advertisers. 2️⃣3️⃣

1. You’re actually free to complain all you want about whatever you want.
2. I don’t know the details of Brian’s relationship with Supertalk. The point is that he’s presumably paid at least the equivalent of a full time salary, which is a very real cost.
3. I know you know all of this and were just offering feedback. The tone of this post is probably overly adversarial, but dang it I’ve spent the time to type it out so I’m posting it.
