Ironically, at the time, people complained about the denim. Everyone that I knew hated them. In 30 years, the checkerboard throwbacks are going to fly off the shelves.
I will definitely buy a pair of these to wear. I had them in middle school. Brings back the memories.
I loved the denims. Granted they were popular period in the 1990’s and as a sixth grader it was my teams fit so I loved it.
I've never seen a brand new pair before or since. Someone had them in their collections for years in mint condition plastic, tags, all of it. plastic on the tongues the way they used to come. I stole them for the price at the time around 2009, I think I paid 250-300 for them. Was thinking of actually giving them to Pope, it might be the nicest original pair in existence. They've been kept in an air tight box since 2009 too. Very little peeling and yellowing which they are notorious for.
Just told the wife that ole Dad is getting a pair of these next year! She loves most UK shoes and/or gear. However, she despises the denim. Lmao
