Talk of MSU going to Adidas uniforms...

every year since we went to the god awefull Russell unis. Ill believe it when I see it for myself.
Those arena uniforms still look better than what we have. I think a lot of the problem is we just look cheap. (Wonder why).
I sincerely hope that Byrne improves both our football and baseball uniforms. I am a fan of the maroon helmet, myself. I have heard the Croom likes the white helmet, and that's what we're going to have as long as we're here. But I wonder how many schools let their coaches pick the uniforms. (Serious question, everyone may do it for all I know.) But if not, I hope that Byrne has the balls to pick decent uniforms for our teams.

were introduced in the 70's when Bob Tyler took over from Charlie Shira....he changed the whole look because it all smacked of the "loser" image that State had back then. I like the maroon helmets too.
Everytime I see the white helmets, I think of the "flying" M decal, and Jack telling us "Hal Chealander rifles the ball....ohhh the linebacker steps in and its a walk to the end zone." We got our assed handed to us by big double digits back then.
I see the Sun Bowl Champions and 9 game winners wearing maroon helmets, maroon jerseys and white pants.
By the way, the Adidas stuff looks okay to me. At least it doesn't have that fake "metal-plate" print on it.

I kinda like UC's new unis... I wouldn't suggest doing anything like that here, but I will give them a gold star for creativity...
I wouldn't mind our white helmet so much if we would just take that stupid logo off... what about putting "STATE" in maroon letters? Or even better, a maroon helmet with "STATE" in white outlined in silver?

the Nike MSU uniforms the best. My second favorite MSU uniforms are the ones we wore in 1980 with Johnie Cooks and John Bond. Those are actually very similar to what we wear now, with the exception of the helmet.
From the NFL, I really liked the uniforms that the '94 49ers wore. I think we could make that uniform work for us with the maroon helmet. It was retro, which I think is cool. Their uniforms were actually somewhat similar to our NIKE uniforms.
Also, I think we need to incorproate the cowbell somehow with our uniforms. That would be a good way to say, "Hey, this is our tradition whether you like it or not." Maybe cowbell helmet stickers? It might actually help the cowbell tradition somehow be more acceptable.

Croom is too old school for that. I think it's ridiculous the uniforms are based upon the whims of the head coach, especially considering players and fans almost universally hate them.
Who gives a crap about uniforms?? I swear, didn't people stop worrying about uniforms after t-ball and coach pitch?? Let's start worrying about consistently winning some games before uniforms. It's not like the players are hopping up and down on the field as the coach carries a box full of new uniforms onto the field every year and the players can't wait to see their new uniforms. I wouldn't care if our players wore uniforms stitched together by the local church lady knitting club, as long as they consistently went to bowl games and competed for some championships every now and then you pack of latent wannabe fasion designer ******.
