He brought to stability to Tampa in an area they struggled to find it for years. Definitely one of the more underappreciated players on that team over the last few years, though Bucs fans know it. But this was expected. He couldn’t kick long distance any longer.

True, but from 40 yds on in he was money! Hard to find that consistency in a power kicker.

I definitely agree. But 50+ he literally couldn’t kick it anymore. It’s never good when your head coach throws you under the bus when the season ends. Not criticizing Succop. Just noting that the actual release today was a formality as it was obviously going to happen after it was obvious they couldn’t kick 50+ FGs, which you have to be able to do in the NFL.

Tampa Bay has a lot bigger problems than a kicker who is limited from 50 yards or more.
