That is pathetic.

Does anybody think there is a single venue in the SEC that would ask the home team fans to do the same thing?

It really is pitiful that they make such a big deal about this. It’s even worse than a home team’s security would make them change it.

In the past I’d say no SEC venue would ever do this, but now I won’t be shocked to see it happen. Florida fans hate getting “gator chomped” too but that’s part of having something like that. Yet I’ve never seen coaches or administrators from Florida cry about it happening. They know they could stop it by winning the games.

Somebody really should sit down with Texas, like I do my 5 year old, and explain to them that if they didn’t make such a big deal out of it people wouldn’t do it as much. At this point the fun of it is because they are so ridiculous about it. No respect for their whining.

Some are asking for the UT coaches head. He's not winning big and he created this issue.

If a player did the horns down in the big 12 it was a taunting penalty, all of that is about to change! They’ve run that show for way to long, welcome to the real world!

I think that may still exist. IMO that is taunting if it's happening in game by players. Just my opinion.

Your probably right, but in my opinion there are a lot worse thing done by opposing players a lot worse than horns down symbol that are never called!

Agreed but I think this is the definition of taunting. Do it after you beat them and you are good.

If the opposing team walked around like chickens after a big hit against us, i would certainly call that taunting.

A few years ago, I attended a Georgia Tech - Clemron baseball game at Russ Chandler Stadium on the Tech Campus. I wore a USC hat. The most I got was a few Tech fans stating "your aren't pulling for Clemson, are you?". I replied "no." Wife said I should have stated "I'll pull for Clemron the day after you pull for Jawja." 😄

Nothing wrong with wearing an opposing team's attire as long as there's no derogatory comments on it.

Our first year as an independent after (foolishly, IMO) leaving the ACC, the men's basketball team wore warm-up jerseys with "ACC Champs" printed on the back. Bad form and immature, no matter how badly they treated us - and a lot of it we brought upon ourselves.

Apparently, there is still a hangover from unfounded accusations by a Duke volleyball player back in August of 2022 making the BYU Administration overly sensitive.
Even when the accusations are false, it’s hard to undo a lot of the damage. Dawn Staley cancelled our games with BYU in 2022 and never apologized even when no evidence could be found of the alleged racist comments.
The same Dawn Staley that sued the Missouri AD for defamation in 2018 over false accusations toward her. 🤷‍♂️

BYU is pretty classy about treating visiting teams with respect. For football games the BYU band will learn the opponents Alma Mater and play it as a welcome when they arrive to campus the day before the game, and visiting fans get free ice cream at half time at Lavelle Edwards stadium. A little different from what we’re used to in the South but they’re a nice group of folks and Provo, UT has an incredible backdrop of the Rocky Mountains behind their stadium.

Anyway, of note for the longhorns, they are in for a rude awakening of trash talk when they join the SEC next season.

If a carolina player does a gator chomp to a Florida player after a tackle, you don't think that's taunting? I think it's getting called.
In the B12 simply doing the horns down will get you a penalty even if it’s not directed at another player. Every game UF plays on you see opponents celebrating with the chomp. As long as they don’t do it in their faces it’s fine. It’s pretty wild to punish fans for it though.

Nope. Clemson literally did that last year.

UT is the only program in America that’s protected like that.

This was totally BYU's doing, Texas had nothing to do with it.
Not sure I agree. Texas coach had everything to do with this. He doesn't act like a jack wagon against UCF, this doesn't occur. I get what your saying though, Texas didn't push BYU into the decision that they made.
