I have always heard he was who Cohen was mentioning. But there was some stuff going on with his marriage and right after Cannizaro - Cohen got trigger shy.

That's a shame. Instead we ended up with a big 10 guy and after cohen and cann's recruits graduated we are getting big 10 results.

one of these sec schools is likely to win it all. Kentucky, TAMU, Tennessee, Florida, maybe even UGA. Small chance of UVA, FSU make it. Likely 3-4 final 4 will be an SEC school and unless Florida wins it will be some SEC school that either hasn't won a natty or hasn't won in a very long time. But people want to talk about our 21 championship. Would we rather that or be what Tennessee or TAMU is now. Well.... they could very well match that this year. All these teams have something built. We have been deconstructed from what cohen built. Even Jay down at lsu made it to regional champ game this year so heavily reloaded unlike us. I just have a feeling this is our new norm with lemonis. He reached the top but so did ole miss and Bianco as well. Should we settle for mediocre just because the coach won a natty 3 years ago now? I get he isn't getting fired I just feel like we will be missing Omaha again next year while we watch Tennessee probably lsu TAMU and others back in Omaha again.

Bastard completely 17d up the search. You are watching A&M benefit from Cohen’s total 17 up. And we end up with mediocre big ten who literally fell headlong into a natty. Jesus Christ, what a colossal search failure.

national championship
Yeah the boys up north got one now too big whoop. We got a national championship because we had a team built and going to Omaha on the regular and got hot at the right time. We haven't sniffed that since and doesn't look like we will be back any time soon based on how we have been recruiting and hitting. We replace the pitching coach that helped but still wasn't enough and we don't look to be replacing the hitting coach

If a national championship is a big whoop, then what outcome are you hoping for?

If we'd just fire Lemonis, all would be right and there'd be no more complaining. Joy in all hearts and a chicken in every pot.

The outcome that doesn't mirror Auburn football 2010 to 2012. Lemon is Chizik.
Question is, who would have been our Malzahn? To be equivalent, it would have been Foxhall. Remember, Chizik essentially ran Malzahn out of town after 2011, because they wanted to get back to RuN dA bAwL. That'd be some funny shlt if Foxhall was actually the one good coach.

But I'd argue it to be Mingione. Dude was a good recruiter and was probably the one that put together a lot of that 2016-2021 run if you get right down to it. And recruiting is a hell of a lot more important in baseball than the coaching is. So while Malzahn brought Auburn's offense back, maybe Mingione could have pulled off some portal magic and got us farther than Lemnz.

The analogy breaks down, I get it. The issue is that Cohen f’d the search up badly and saddled us with a mid. And to make it worse, Cohen tried to sell his $hitty hire as if the guy was a recruiting savant.

Fortunately Cohen moved on to Auburn before this hire looked so bad. Otherwise, we’d have been stuck with both of them.

I heard that Schlossnagle let it out that he was our new coach before Cohen announced it so Cohen's worthless *** pulled the offer and gave us what we have now

We actually went to Texas A&M a couple years ago. It was a nice trip and the people were very friendly, but they were very weird.

Chris Lemons banged a lot of SPS and ED wives. Lots of whiny bastards complaining about a natty when the almighty Cholk couldn’t even do it in a weak *** sport that had about 5 teams that cared.

For clarity's sake, nobody blames the mid for taking the job and the money. The blame is on the 17n bastard who found a way to 17 up the Schloss hire.

This has always been the story since the 2018 CWS. My question is why would something like that make you go a different direction? I realize it's a little taboo to talk before you're hired, but it's not like he went to the media or anything. Why would Cohen pull the plug just for that?

This is one of those cases where, unless your name is Cohen or Schlossnagle you probably have no idea what actually happened. Cohen’s job at the time required him to hire the best possible candidate for the head baseball coaching position. Something evidently happened during the search process that raised a red flag for Cohen when he took a good, long look at Schlossnagle. Right or wrong, something happened that scared Cohen to the point that he went in a different direction. I don’t know what it was, but it evidently was a good reason at the time. I’m not buying into the conspiracy theory that Cohen didn’t want to hire someone who might show him (Cohen) up. That’s ridiculous.

So, you asking for a bubble machine for Christmas?
Hell, my over-sized, over-stuffed banana is still barely used.* I don't really give a 17 what stupid ploy or device is used to signify excitement and a restoration of a once-proud program under competent oversight and management. Just somebody please rectify the unmitigated disaster that was the John Cohen tenure of athletic leadership.

* Intentional double-entendre.
