Please explain!!
With whatever ad blocker I have every time I open SPS I get a notification On3 relies on adds blah blah blah and I have to refresh the page or whitelist this page. It will eventually log me out and won’t let me log back in until I disable the adblocker. Then I have to turn the adblocker back on and rinse and repeat. It’s a pain in the a$$. It’s definitely affected my board participation. It’s Beto the point that it’s not worth the hassle.

Same here, I have to click an ad to see one and sometimes that doesn't work. Brave is awesome
Use Brave. No more ads. I never see one.
I see a permanent Strangebrew and Ely's banner ad at the top when I log in on my phone, PC, or tablet and nothing else, ever.

The ads absolutely suck and are getting worse and worse. It is eventually going to make this site unreadable.
I've sent it on. The more examples I provide the better. Bad ads are usually worse as you get close to the holidays. Hopefully they will calm down after 1/1.

It does give me a sense of accomplishment...it takes 10 minutes to log in, 5 minutes to closes all the Ads, then 2 minutes to actually get to the post and read the post...and by that time I'm too tired to post a response.

I’m assuming you turned your phone sideways or is that a tablet?

I downloaded the Brave browser last night.

- it works for blocking ads on my iphone.
- the brave search engine is atrociously bad since tracking you helps improve search results near you, etc.

Try the AdGuard app on your iPhone. I use safari and see zero ads

Perfectly ok with seeing the banner adds at the top

it’s pop up at the bottom that covers half my screen and stays there as I scroll that is the problem

This is good advice that is set forth every time this subject appears in a thread.

Yet, people continue to complain about the ads. I'm beginning to think those people are not smart.
Or AdGuard App and keep whatever browser of your choice on your phone.

I wouldn’t put Norton on my pc, but the free ad blocker is rated one of the best on mobile.

I have a banner now on the bottom promoting some PRIZEPICKS (lottery?) site. It takes up at least a 1/3 of my screen.
WTF?!

Are becoming unbearable on safari for iPhone
Just download Brave and poof problem solved. But I also have Adblock Pro on Safari now so it’s another great award winning Safari extension. With Brave I don’t remember my last add or even a tiny problem. Seriously give Brave a shot it’s great and will solve your issues. It’s better browser also in several way to me than Safari.

Brave is on my phone but Opera is another browser that is good, I've got it on my tablet and get no ads on there either.

I understand that Brave works, but I don’t want to download a new browser solely to read Sixpack. I use Chrome, because all of my Google accounts are synced in the browser.

I just realized that this board and the internet in general has become a third world country. You can enjoy a walk on the beach for someone trying to sell you something you don’t want nor need. I miss the days when if you wanted to see porn you had to go to the next town to the drive in that had the back of the screen facing the road!

Sigh....same. I now log in on the laptop and after 4-5 mins of scrolling and clicking ads i get annoyed and close it. I've downloaded an ad blocker on the laptop, but On3 blocks the site if you are using an ad blocker. I do use Brave when i scroll thru the site on my phone and it does work well.

I understand it though. Takes a lot of ads to pay for them big screens!!

Half or more browsers are built on Chrome/Chrome’s code but heavily optimized or changed. Also I believe you can sync all your google account stuff and it be many times safer on Brave and even transfer a lot of your stuff right to it. I understand totally however if you just don’t wanna do that 👌🏼understood.

Netscape Navigator works mighty fine for me. Can't figure out what threads have beaten the dead horse more this year... Ads or NFL football player intros saying their high school instead of State.

Point of emphasis.. It's 2024 on Monday. If you can't figure out how to successfully navigate the internets from a phone or laptop by now, you are S.O.L.

Netscape Navigator is still around? Hold shite. Talk about the computer browser I used back in the day way before colored screen cell phones even.

Right. That's your choice to make.

I use the Firefox browser, so I don't get any of the pop-up ads some of our posters complain about.

If I were having problems with pop-up ads and I knew that using a different browser would eliminate that problem, then I'd switch to the different browser, at least for reading the SixPack.

It seems like a no brainer to me. In my opinion, complaining about a problem that has an easy, known solution is dumb.
