Matchups are everything. 3 guard offenses that can shoot treys will be a bad draw. I’m talking ncaa tourney.

What’s still so frustrating is that we’d be a solid 2 seeds higher (minimum) without the awful and still inexcusable Southern loss. Still can’t believe we dropped that one. We’d certainly be a tourney lock already.

Southern went onto lose to the same Bethune Cookman team that we took to the woodshed just a few weeks later. Also lost several other SWAC games and is still not in the top 200 of the NET, or even in 1st place in their terrible league.

Thanks for the wet blanket post. I was feeling ok tonight until you dredged that up.
We certainly weren’t the same team then. I think we’re all extremely satisfied with the season and program direction. Just one of those things that still makes you say “17!!!” as loud as you can in your head, though.

Who knows….being an 8/7 instead of a 6/5 might beca blessing in disguise where we get a good matchup.

Was just looking at SWAC standings…MVSU is 0-27. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a winless D1 team this late in the season before

Do we have to win 2 more to make the ncaa tournament?

This is a tourney team barring an unreal collapse. Would have to lose out for it to even be a possibility. Goal is no longer make the tourney, it’s play for the highest seed possible.

This soon to be six game conference winning streak must be excruciating for you.
No I have just seen enough White Out Kentucky games to know how they usually play out. Two Quick Fouls on Hubbard, Tolu and Cam in the first 5 minutes.

I totally agree. Even if that slime ball Callipari doesn’t instruct his team to get Hubbard and Tolu with quick 1st half fouls the officials will definitely make sure it happens. Seen this movie before with the officials totally being in Ky favor.

I just don’t believe that loss matters as much as some

I too think it’s bad timing. We haven’t played high level competition in a while. We need to re adjust Quickly. Plus the loss to lsu likely got Kentuckys attention. Hope it’s a close game in the last 4 minutes, and then let the chips fall where they may

reagrdless we just gotta win 1 more. We took care of the business we needed to in the last 5.

Even worse is how we lost that damn game. Went the final 4:29 without hitting one 17ing basket and not playing defense. One of the worst losses in Power 5 history.

Tolu would be a 19-20 ppg scorer if he would help himself by finishing at the rim. Between that and his regression at the line, he’s costing himself 6-8 points every time out.

We just have a weird mix of players on our roster where Tolu, and Bell to a lesser extent are the only players with any consistent post scoring and we have nobody with a midrange jumper. If we had a wing or an off guard that was consistent from 10-15 feet this team would be fighting in the upper tier of the league.

It’s truly a shame that DJ didn’t grow his offensive game at all while at MSU.

Underrated move by Jans imo as well. tulo and Hubbard on the floor together doesn’t mesh well at times. Tulo running with the second unit gives us a chance to play two different styles and keep one of our 2 scorers on the floor at all times
Tulo twice.
At least it isn't 'Tulu', I guess?

Tolu played 28 minutes and Hubbard 34 minutes so there wasn’t much time that they weren’t on the floor together. Most of that was to begin the game.
