Yes, Penn State is dominating all of NCAA wrestling but for these charts, I'm focusing on Pennsylvania. As @El_Jefe likes to remind us, Cael didn't come here to beat Lehigh. But beating Lehigh like a rented mule is still a nice by-product of Cael's plan for world domination.

The first chart shows the amount of NCAA tournament points for the Cael Era (2010-2025) and the 15 years before Cael (1995-2009) with the number of National Champions, All-Americans and NCAA qualifiers. As you can see, while Penn State was #1 in Pennsylvania prior to Cael, Lehigh and Edinboro weren't very far behind. Edinboro actually had more NCAA qualifiers than Penn State and the other PA schools combined for twice as many champions than Penn State (12 to 6). Cael sure changed that in a hurry.

In the last 15 years of NCAA tournaments, Penn State has almost tripled their points while most other PA schools have regressed significantly with the notable exception of Pitt (and Lehigh hasn't fell off as much as the others). Some of the incredible #s that Penn State is posting includes placing 96 All-Americans out of 133 qualifiers (less the 7 NQs in the COVID cancelled year). This is a 72% success rate compared to 37% of the qualifiers making the podium prior to Cael. Of course, the number of national champions is unreal. With 40 national champions under Cael, Penn State has more champs than the next best school has All-Americans (Lehigh with 33 AAs). The rest of the state has only 3 combined champions since Cael came to town.

The 2nd chart shows the number of All-Americans per PA school during the Cael Era and for the 15 years before Cael. From 1995-2009, the other PA schools combined to have over 3 times the number of AAs than Penn State (134 to 39). Under Cael, Penn State has more AAs than the rest of Pennsylvania combined (96 to 82).

There are two key takeaways from your charts:

1. PA has a lot of talent.

2. A lot of high-end talent has consolidated to 1 school.

Continuing the takeaways...

3. Successful coaching and motivational leadership acts like a magnet for great talent.

4. Success begets success.

Unavailable from the data is the fact that great success fosters extreme jealousy from others and those actors often behave in insidious ways to curtail future PSU success.

just think how good PSU would have been if they had kept all NCAA champs from PA at home instead oof going to other schools!
