The future of cbf in SC

Much of Clemson's immediate future hinges on how the Garrett Riley hire plays out. He's obviously the OC many USC fans coveted. If he and Klubnick click, it could rekindle Clemson's QB-recruiting dominance. But Clemson folk know and are on board with the fact that Riley is a one or two year hire. If their offense blows up this year, he'll be off to HC somewhere next season most likely.
If Riley has success, it’s all short-term as he’ll quickly be a hot name for coaching vacancies all over.
So Riley won’t be a long term thing at Clemson. A shot in the arm for them, and maybe a big one. But long term, they’ll still have to land guys like him. Unfortunately, their next OC might be on staff already…Chad Morris.
As long as Clemson stays in the ACC, it's going to be hard for Carolina to pass them in terms of championships and playoff appearances. It's just a fact that they have a much easier path to the playoff than Carolina ever will.
Even if we start to be regularly competitive with them and win a fair share of the games, their ceiling is always going to be higher solely because of conference affiliation.

I've always thought we had a window of opportunity with them having that headcase stuck as their qb.
Imho, this year will go a long way to showing if they bounce back, or are a downward spiral. (That being said, I don't think they ever bounce back to 2 titles in 3 years type of good. NIL will hold them back)
