He's got them as one of the last 4 out. I don't understand it. They've got some good wins, but their non-conference schedule is a bigger joke than Florida's.

You watch. ASU is going to get in, and the sole reason they will get in is because they will be the one team that the selection committee chooses to take just to prove that they don't rely on RPI for selection.

They seem to do it every year where they take some team with a really low RPI. I think one year they took Air Force with an RPI of about 70 and skipped over another mid-major who had an RPI of something like 24.

I swear they do that type of stuff just to prove that no one can project the field.

over us sixpack messageboarders is inside communication to people in the committee. You have to know that Lunardi has at least one person he is in constant contact with that is either on the committee or privy to committee information. He is WAY too accurate every single year to not have insider information.

If he says Arizona State has a good chance to be in, then they do. Simple as that.

He is the one that said we wouldn't make the NCAAs after our 5-0 SEC start. I believe his words were, "I'm not buying what MSU is selling". He then went on a long speech about how some low rated PAC 10 schools should all make the tourney and only 3 SEC teams would make it.

only because Lunardi has them on the bubble. This is why I loathe ESPN sometimes. Any information that contradicts something said on the WWL or their website is non-existent. If Lunardi didn't have them on the bubble, I guarantee you they wouldn't so much as mention ASU on their halftime shows.

Yeah he is a little @%%$#*%%..
I remember that he was talking about Cal and how great they were.
Then he gones on to say that his brother is an assistant coach there.
No Pac-10 Bias there, no way they are the best conference this year. </p>

You give Lunardi too much credit. It's really not that hard. You only have 34 at large berth's and 30 teams are easily guessed because they are locks. So it's just a matter of picking the final 4 or 5.

I was getting my years confused. I just looked it up, and it was 2006 when Missouri State was left out of the tourney with an RPI of 21, so it wasn't the same year as Air Force. Still, I believe the selection committee does things like that sometimes just to prove that they are bigger than the RPI.
