This game was an absolute sham. UGA's previous high point total on the season was 55 against Vandy. They bested that by 2 scores against the "second best team in the country." UGA is very, very good, but, let's face it, they hadn't looked THAT good for most of the season. There's good and then there's "58 points better than the #2 team good." I'd like to think this was a learning experience for the committee. In the future, do the common sense thing, even if it goes against public opinion, and put Bama in there.
Or maybe it was a strategic move by the committee. Maybe they bowed to public opinion on purpose. "Ok, you don't want Bama in there again, we'll give you TCU and see what happens." No doubt, they may have thought TCU would get waxed by Michigan, but it took one more game for that to happen.
