The Maurice Podoloff trophy goes to Kobe.

Yeah, I had no idea that's what the MVP trophy was called. Anyway, he's got the Lakers on top of the West, which was ridiculous this year, so I don't have that big of a problem. I do think CP3 should have won it, but I can't distinguish between how much I think that based on merit or how much I think that based on "good story" feelings.

Thoughts? CP3 or Kobe? I have a feeling I know how the board will lean, but hey, it's not college baseball, so let's discuss.

I think it was Wilbon who earlier said he'd vote for whichever team won the west, which was Kobe. This may seem stupid, but I think the talent levels are pretty even on the two teams, especially if you consider Pau didn't play the whole season for the Lakers. Kobe has turned into the best all around player in the game this year, but CP3 is pretty damn good too. Since it's just for the regular season, I'm cool with Kobe winning, but so far in the playoffs Paul has been the MVP.

I think I'd rather have a Finals MVP anyway. Which I'm hoping CP3 ends up with.
