Walter Sharpe was 2 picks away from being a first round pick. I am still shocked by that fact. This is what ESPN could have said about him after the pick...

I had to stop and think about that, and I just kept repeating the phrase "Walter Sharpe got drafted ahead of Joey Dorsey" in my head. The rest of the draft ceased to be relevant to me for the remainder of the night.

on a near 1st round pick. They must really think the upside potential is huge (like NBA All-Star huge), because the downside risk is pretty well documented.

...And (as I'm sure you know) it doesn't matter if he was 1 pick away from the first round or selected 60th. Being a guy like Sharpe being selected in the second round says to me the NBA line of thought was: "You've got great talent to be a first-rounder, but we're not guaranteeing you ****."
