I really don’t think 12 teams was too much. I think college football DEI is obviously what made the first round of games about as boring as can be.
12 teams is about right, if they get the right 12 teams. These make-a-wish playoff teams had no business being there.
You’re going to have blowouts no matter which system you use. It happens in every playoff of every sport. I personally feel it should be win and get in like the NfL and let the chips fall where they may. It stops the fussing and delusions. Let’s not forget that Tennessee who beat one of the first teams out by a touchdown. They then went on to get a straight up woodshed butt whipping by Ohio state.
8-12 is about right, I think we can say better in 2-3 years. The selection criteria can be tweaked.
