according to 247 when it is all said and done (Florida will pass us with their next recruit) and we will still be 26th nationally. With that said this is a really good recruiting class based on our history of recruiting. It is just getting tougher to recruit against the other SEC teams. Think about this, when you add in Texas and Oklahoma the SEC has 15 teams in the top 26 rankings for recruiting.

Brutal neighborhood we are competing in. Not to mention Jackson State getting the #1 rated recruit in the nation.

Some alumni need to get some sort of NIL fund together fast. With the prices I've heard lately it would need, conservatively, 5-10M invested to use the interest for recruiting, and would need to be built on it every year.

Local radio program here in Monroe County was commenting on this on my way into work. They talked about capping the NIL money like they do in the NFL and went on to say the same thing is going on with the private schools. Both Amory schools lost State Championship Soccer games to private schools. The private schools are allowed to recruit while the state run schools get in trouble for doing so. Guess high school players will soon be making money!

Agree, we need to adjust our strategy away from

Compliance and more towards sells and Marketing and we need to hire and fire accordingly.

Just get to a bowl game and win it. That's the goal unless we drop $20M plus to get at the high stakes table.

I wonder what percentage of our poor recruiting is due to lack of resources spent on recruiting? Not NIL, but our actual recruiting budget which is last in the SEC and around 50th nationally.

I'm convinced that the official recruiting budget is directly proportional to the unofficial recruiting budget.

We have some naive people out here today believing that NIL is the only extra benefits a player receives.

Yep! $25k under the table is a LOT more powerful than $25k reported to the IRS.
