The SEC is sticking with 8 conference games in 2025

I wonder if the reason the SEC has not set a new schedule rotation, they are not doing so in anticipation of more teams being added in the future?

Honestly, it seems kind of like a no-brainer to keep the same teams as 2024 and flip the home games.

You need to hope for something else. This is it. I'll declare now that, from then on, it will be nine games.
Yep. The only reason it will not be 9 in 2025 is they will be adding more teams by 2026 and no need to work up any kind of new rotation that will just get scrapped after a year.

Possibly so, but there is also the issue of contracts against worthwhile opponents that have already been signed by schools. Teams are busy clearing space beyond 2025 to allow for nine conference games, as ECU's media asserted regarding future games with us in a couple of recent stories.

So just until 2025, how interesting. Not that there will be any changes in 2026, or will there ?

My belief is they are anticipating more schools joining the SEC and are holding off on coming up with a new rotation until after that happens.

I expect so. Lots of added value with eight additional conference games. We can't give that up indefinitely.

I don't think they'll wait indefinitely. I think they'll do it soon regardless.

I do not believe it is something they are waiting indefinitely. I believe they already have an idea of what teams will be joining and have had plenty of unofficial talks with those schools.

I don't think the nine-game schedule depends on additional teams, though. Still some things to be sorted out regarding the availability of additional teams. Those things might take awhile.
