Watching the Tenn vs AU game the calls were so inconsistent all night. Ridiculous to watch the refs butcher the game. Good top 10 battle, both teams were hungry af
Seriously, if they don't get the review process fixed, it won't be just the NBA that's down 50% in viewership. Overtime yesterday took over 30 minutes to play and had only 2 made baskets by both teams combined. Woof. That's beyond ugly. Nobody wants to watch that.I just hate the review process. One, they use it WAY too much and two, the amount of time it takes to come to a decision. Just speed things up.
Also they use the review process as a crutch because they can’t make a decision in real time.
Hell, yesterday they even used it after they had made a decision. That play towards the end of the game when Cam was inbounding and the ball got swatted back out of bounds was ridiculous. They made the right call, and it didn’t come within a foot of touching Cam on the way back, but they stopped play for a minute and a half long review “just to make sure”.I just hate the review process. Worst thing you can do as an official is be timid. And the SEC overuse of replay has produced a lot of scared officials.Hell, yesterday they even used it after they had made a decision. That ball never came close to Cam. Ridiculous if that was the review. I wondered if they were looking to see whether the USC player broke the plane of the baseline when he deflected the inbounds. But even then, if thats their first, it’s a delay of game warning. So just play ball and keep the game moving.Hell, yesterday they even used it after they had made a decision. One thing that really annoys me is almost anytime the clock stops in the last minute in a close game, the refs go to the monitor to check the time and put like 2 tenths of a second back on the clock. It’s maddening. What does it matter if it goes from 13.4 to 13.7? They’re just going to dribble it around until there’s less than five seconds left anyway. I understand if like a full second comes off the clock when it’s not supposed to. But taking two minutes to put a couple tenths of a second back on the clock drives me crazy. That ball never came close to Cam. Ridiculous if that was the review.
