Who cares who said it? Does it matter if it was from me, him, or some second hand knowledge from someone close to the situation?

He's taking his chance on pro baseball.

1. He was only going pro if he was a top 3 round pick
2. Then it was he was only going pro if he got 600K to sign
3. Now, he is going pro and I bet he didnt get anymore than 100K

This was too easy to see coming

didn't get ****, way to early to see if club didnt get other draftees. He got a ticket and a bag of popcorn. If he could really play he could have turned this into a high draft pick with a very large bonus.

Maybe if some others said they were not signing.. I would bet it's more like 50K to move there and a MONTHLY stipend ($800-1000) plus they pay for most food and stuff......

THEN if he performs at a certain level he'll get another 25-50K within the year... maybe up to 100K total.. Sorry.. he is a dime a dozen to a pro team at this point..

Albert Pujols got 60k as a 13th rounder 9 years ago. I know he is Albert Pujols but then he was a pudgy juco corner infielder who didnt have a position and there were rumors he was older than he said. I was told last night from a reliable source that a certain UM draft pick in the 21st round was getting 80k up front.

He probably held out for 100k. Not that he has much more of an opportunity to get that kind of cash, but judging by his quotes in the paper, he had no clue what he was doing.

That'll buy him a $40K car, pay his $15K tax bill, buy him a $2.5K wardrobe, and, depending upon his maturity, allow him to kickstart a retirement fund. Then he's gotta go work on the field year-round. Under $1K/month for short-season A-ball plus roughly $20/day for meals while on road trips. Next year, the full-season A-ball salary jumps up to $1,050 - $1,100/month.

Players drafted in rounds 6 - 10 have a 20% chance of making the big leagues.

Minor leagues are about grinding, developing, and not getting "weeded out".
