The worst part of this game is not simply losing to La Tech

it was stinking it up on ESPN2 HD on national television. At least the Maine and Toolame (and La Tech in 1996 and NELU in 1995 for that matter) debacles were not televised.

Why is this considered such a surprise?
This makes two straight losses to La Tech.
38-23 loss in 96 to what was a poor La Tech team (and let's recall - Tech was leading 38-9 with two minutes left).

And tonight should have been something similar had La Tech not wasted as many chances as they did.

I just said the worst part was it was a nationally televised game, unlike Toolame twice, UAB twice, Maine 2004, NELU 1995, La Tech 1996, Troy State 2001 among others.

Good point. Why are we surprised? If Coach O wasn't such a moron, we finish 6-6 last season and probably don't go to a bowl. Our expectations would probably be lower. Then we lose: Mike Brown, Derek Sherrod, Pegues, and Anthony Johnson unexpectantly. Then we fly down to ruston 7 hours before kickoff and play La. Tech with a 2 QB system that features Wes Carroll and Tyson Lee. Not to mention that we traded Ellis Johnson for a guy who was coaching WR's at Alabama 2 years ago. So you are right, why are we surprised?

balls and we`re stuck with him and his fine staff for a long time because he will never ever get a job offer from anywhere else.
