Was digging through some old boxes and ran across some ticket stubs from events I attended. The 1979 National Championship game PSU vs Alabama for $10. The 1987 National Championship between PSU and Miami for $70. Bruce Springsteen 1980 concert for $10.50. The Rolling Stones in 1981 for $17.25 and the Who in 1983 for $17.10.

PSU tickets during that 86 season were $15. If you want to go to the WVU game, you'll have to add a zero and then maybe double that number. I've been in the Dallas area for work this week and 2 weeks ago and thought about trying to find a way to get to a Stars playoff game but woof, those prices are just not worth it for a non-clinch game between two teams I'm indifferent about.
As long as people will buy it for those prices- people will sell them for those prices.
We had a similar discussion. Our tix in bjc to see Bruce in March one section from the stage and 6 rows from the floor were around $300 each. We just saw him again in Rome, Italy and our tix were 159 euro each. 
Converse Chuck Taylors were the shoes to have, cost $20 and were too expensive for me. I got Keds.
I got K-Mart plastic soled specials.
I believe when I bought student tickets for the 94 season that they were $11 apiece.
My PSU student season tickets for 1978 cost $18 - for the season!
I saw the Ramones at the Decade in Pittsburgh back in the late 70s for something around $5. On top of that I got to play pinball with DeeDee Ramone.

To further enhance Beaver Stadium as the country’s premier college football venue, Penn State Athletics is excited to announce the creation of the Tunnel Club. This new, exclusive space will be located in the iconic south tunnel and features two members-only spaces providing club members with a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
This new space will include several exclusive benefits on home football weekends:
- Open bar
- Complimentary food and snacks
- Private restrooms
- Exclusive, password protected Wi-Fi network
- Spectacular views of the team taking the field each game
- Special access each home football game weekend
Additionally, the Tunnel Club will be open to members for a minimum of five (5) additional dates per year. This could include dates like:
- Football away game weekends
- Select Penn State Athletics home games
- Graduation weekends
- ArtsFest
- Other University & special events
Tunnel Club members will be allowed a total of four (4) passes per event. Members will also be able to rent the club throughout the year for private events and parties. This exclusive membership is $10,000 annually, and a limited number of memberships will be available. This annual membership fee is non-charitable and does NOT count towards any ticket or parking purchase/contribution.
