It’s crazy this is a sport. It was all cringe. But this lady is far more famous because of how bad it was. I have no idea who actually won gold. She probably gets some kind of endorsement out of all of this back in Australia.

But this definitely isn’t an Olympic-worthy sport. But there was plenty of good events on for 2-1/2 weeks.

She has since issued a statement defending her performance saying she knew she had little chance of winning if she went head-to-head with the other competitors doing traditional/textbook/standard moves. So she said she made up all original moves of her own.

This would seem like a sprinter saying "I knew I really didn't have much shot of winning, so I decided to do my own thing and run sideways".

As a side note, even the "good" breakdancing didn't look that great. I saw better breakdancing in the 80s.

And the guy who finished second at the Us Olympic trials in the javelin didn’t make the US Olympic team because his throw was short of the Olympic qualifying standard.I guess no qualifying standard in breakdancing, huh.

I just didn't watch the "breaking." The track & field, swimming, and basketball were all great events!
I do like the 100/200 and relays. Pulled them up on YouTube after the fact. Maybe it’s because I’m getting old, but I miss what the Olympics felt like when I was a kid back in the 70s. And even 60s.

I remember George Forman dancing around waving an American flag after winning gold in 1968. I've always contrasted that with the fists in the air after winning gold in track at the same Olympics.
