I’m sure he did retire over NIL. Not out of self righteousness, though. Only because the money was leveled and he didn't want to have to recruit every player every year.
He is right. Money ruined it. It's costing bama a lot more than a charger to have a 5* on third string.
It's been downhill at Alabama since production of the Dodge Challenger and Charger was stopped last December.
No wonder Saban feels like he can no longer compete.
We are no longer the best at "encouraging" players and their families play at Bama and we are here to fuss about it.
