This loss seems worse than the others in a general way….

The rebounding lately has been bad. Matthews was on another level in the UK game and hasn’t looked like that since. Melendez very quiet and “Kugel was high again” is the best description. Lights out three point shooting by opponent continues. Also, Missouri is pretty good

I didn’t watch any of it, just now catching up. Blowout loss at home on Saturday. Eek.

Any overarching theme? Bama loss still lingering?
We were never in it the second half. At one point we cut it to 10 I think, but I’d didn’t last long. I knew it was over at the under 16 timeout.
We just looked whipped. Mizzou dictated everything about the game.

I think Melendez is actually hurt but Kugel was just awful. Nwoko wasn’t much better, he gets abused on the boards. Harris is a generic college basketball player. He’s just out there.

If you didn't watch it live, save yourself the heartache. I'll sum it up, they had a white that sunk 3s from half court and they grabbed offensive boards like they were playing a junior girls high team. Meanwhile we couldn't get anything going.
Only good news today was after my 10:00 tennis match, lunch & a shower it was 1:30, so I didn’t watch a second of this game. Oh and we won the tennis match & Liverpool won today. 9 point up with 15 gsmes to play. Would be hard to lose the Premier League, but they’ve choked before.

I think it hurts so much because this set up perfectly for a strong willed team to shrug off the Bama loss by reasserting themselves with a decisive home win against a good team.

Not only did we not do that, but that was one of the most uninspiring, tail between our legs beat downs I’ve seen during the Jans era, and it’s making fans really question this group’s manhood. I’m not quite there yet, but they’re rapidly backing themselves into a corner, and thank goodness they won the two OT games or else this season would be spiraling into a disaster

It’s just like I said a few days ago, this isn’t a top 20 team. Our true ranking would be somewhere between 21 and 40. We have no point guard; that is a vital position in college basketball. It’s one reason our offense looks broken at times, we don’t have a kick *** smart tough point guard to make sure everybody is doing what they are supposed to and can get buckets on their own when it’s needed. The other reason is Jans just isn’t a good offensive coach, never has been. We really need an offensive coordinator and let Jans focus on defense.

Also we can’t seem to attract spot up 40% three point shooters to campus. I’ve heard it said that since a lot of those guys are bad on D that they don’t fit on a Jans team, that he requires a certain effort and skill on that end. That line of thinking should be put to rest because we suck on defense this year. Guys being lazy, not contesting shots, not blocking out and getting in good rebound position. I also have a problem with our scheme at times. It seems we over help and a few passes will always find a man open. Sometimes you just need to let the ball handler prove that he can go create his own shot enough to justify you leaving shooters to help.

And finally we just aren’t as talented as a lot of other SEC schools. Seems most everybody has a guy that could go somewhere in the first round and one or two others that are potential 2nd round picks. We have zero NBA talent. I’m not even sure we have anybody that can last overseas as a pro except for Hubbard and because of his size it will be tough. I’m not sure if we can change that because, with some exceptions, we’ve never traditionally attracted a lot of future NBA talent.

There is simply no offense being run most of the game. We dont cut screen or move. We stand around the three point line and jack up bad shots or make a one on one move.

our opponents run an offense and work ro get good looks at the basket.

I'd say more like a #15-30 team. We're #24 in NET right now. Our conference losses are to #1, 4, 10, 6 and 27. We have 5 top 42 wins.
