It is so obviously untrue, I don't know why anyone would say it.“Lightning strikes when you least expect it.” Never heard that one before.
I'm sorry, I want to make sure I understand. Did what once?Frank Martin did it once...
Unexpectedly made it to the final fourI'm sorry, I want to make sure I understand. Did what once?
The meme threw me off. It seems to be denoting teams that have not won the championship (but for one). I thought you were referring to that.Unexpectedly made it to the final four

When I lived in Pensacola I guy on the beach was struck by lightning under a clear sky. The bolt entered his head and exited his genitals to the ground. He died instantly. And I'm sure, least expected it.It is so obviously untrue, I don't know why anyone would say it.
I would say playing in the final four is sniffing a championship. You can't get much closer than that, other than getting to the championship game.I'm referring to the parity that has come in college basketball of late(nil yes to a degree) and that we had as of Saturday 7 of the elite 8 teams(now 3 of the final 4) that had never won a national title. No Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, or any other blueblood for that matter. Even recent final 4 regular Gonzaga is now gone. Even with the playing field feeling more level than it has in years, our men's basketball program still can't gain any traction. Look at the teams in the SEC that have taken turns either winning the SEC Tournament and/or the regular season crown over the years and done it multiple times. We have one regular season crown way back in 1997, we haven't sniffed a championship of any kind since.
Here lies Bill. His penis was so electric, he once shot lightning bolts out of it.When I lived in Pensacola I guy on the beach was struck by lightning under a clear sky. The bolt entered his head and exited his genitals to the ground. He died instantly. And I'm sure, least expected it.
That's a good question. It's certainly not true that parity is _universally_ desired, even though everybody acts like it is. Alabama and Georgia aren't hoping for parity in college football. UNC and Kentucky certainly weren't looking for parity in college basketball. I don't want to see it any time soon in women's basketball and the way things are going, I'm hoping it's on the way out of college baseball too.On another note, I don't get the big deal over parity. Why is everyone always pushing for parity?
If not parity, then you do need a sufficient number of schools that invest in the sports program. Otherwise, it would be like Irmo High and everyone else a Cardinal Newman; you need some Spring Valleys and Blythewoods in there too. That's a good question. In a broader context, I think there is an argument that ultimate parity would be pretty boring.
While that can happen, it is rare. Usually lightening strikes are in the middle of a lightening storm where you should have a very good idea that the risk is high and be expecting the danger. Certainly most strikes are when it is very much expected, the "when least expected" is so rare saying that doesn't make sense at all to say that. When I lived in Pensacola I guy on the beach was struck by lightning under a clear sky. The bolt entered his head and exited his genitals to the ground. He died instantly. And I'm sure, least expected it.
A “bolt out of the blue” can happen when you are in blue sky but a storm is 20 miles away. Here lies Bill. His penis was so electric, he once shot lightning bolts out of it.
Also, my guess is there was a storm nearby. Could have been 10 miles away. But still in the area.
So, something so rare that it's not expected happens but to say it wasn't expected makes no sense. At all. OK.While that can happen, it is rare.
