Doncsecz was/is, essentially, an accountant. That is not intended as a pejorative, he was, by all impressions, solid. I believe he holds a CPA. Given his role, he was probably among the most competent at his job from among those working in that part of the University. He was generally able to at least know "Where the money was, where it came from, and where it went" - which was, quite frankly, a bit of a rarity among PSU Administration.

The article left out his most important fiscal responsibility....making sure there was enough onion dip at any meeting Barron was a participant!

They did mention, “fostering a culture of sound fiscal management.” That isn’t just scones and lattes.

Accountants doing accounting things. We can use more of them these days.

For those in the know, just what title is "Associate Vice President"? Seriously. It sounds like VP, but not quite. Is it an alternative to Assistant?
Is there another level before this, after this, before reaching VP?
