Neither would surprise me.Are they ignorant about the climate and geography of DFW, or are the just confusing the Cotton with the Fiesta Bowl?
Uh, no longer? James Brooks, Dexter Manely, Jerrell Power, are just a few that played several year of high level college ball who couldn't read. They are no longer scholar Players

It won't be long before they are excused from school. I'm sure a large percentage of them would rather practice than attend classes.
It may have been intended to be a joke, but it hits close to the mark, right?P.S.--That's the X account of "NOT Cordale Jones"

They are no longer scholar Players they are paid to play not go too school.
And this is why my apathy grows.I knew this was coming and he is right...They are no longer scholar Players they are paid to play not go too school.
I've always said that the schools should be allowed to offer a major in coaching baseball, football, etc. It's what a lot of them end up doing anyway. Take some child psychology classes and the rest toward coaching your sport. It would be much more beneficial than having them take classes that they don't want and are useless just to stay qualified to play.Maybe the colleges should just go ahead and have a major called "Football" (or Basketball or whatever). With zero scholarships, however.
I've seen interviews with several players, not MSU players of course, that could barely speak English.Uh, no longer? James Brooks, Dexter Manely, Jerrell Power, are just a few that played several year of high level college ball who couldn't read.
At least he's honest.

This is what has been ALLOWED to happen, but is it really what we WANT? I don't know why so many are willing to give up on amateurism, which is one of the things that made the sport what we all love....which is about kinship to the university. I get the reality, but I just don't know why so many are just willing to accept it.It won't be long before they are excused from school. What? And upset the cash cow, I don't think so.This is what has been ALLOWED to happen, but is it really what we WANT? And going further, I don't know why we haven't come out and said, hey, you want rev-share, then it counts against the value of your scholarship aid. That'll tamp down this shlt QUICK. It will also screw over the expensive universities, or force them to knock down tuition.
I mean shlt at some point the universities have to fight back.
the genie is out of the bottle forget ever going back to the way it was...its done done! This is what has been ALLOWED to happen, but is it really what we WANT? Football players have not gone to classes in years unless they wanted to be there. Does anyone not remember us getting busted just a couple years ago for a tutor taking online exams for players while they were on the court playing a game. Or what about those NC players getting credit hours for a nonexistent class. Really? You think football players have been students? Only if they chose to be one, it's just out in the open now that they got $$$$ in their pockets.I knew this was coming and he is right...They are no longer scholar Players they are paid to play not go too school.
Lubbock last year for me.Neither would surprise me.
I've lived in the DFW area for 20 years now and I never saw a tumbleweed until my first trip to Amarillo last year.
We self imposed severe sanctions over a fairly minor issue. UNC, supposedly one of the best public universities in the country, had a 1000x worse scandal, fought it and got zero penalty.Does anyone not remember us getting busted just a couple years ago for a tutor taking online exams for players while they were on the court playing a game. The only way I see the Universities really fighting back is either getting out of the sports business (not gonna happen) or Congress writing an anti trust exemption for collegiate sports. This is what has been ALLOWED to happen, but is it really what we WANT? Didn't he take something like 60 hours during one summer session?

36 over 2 summer semesters. Having done several semesters of summer school, 12 per semester was not easy. 36 is unthinkable.Didn't he take something like 60 hours during one summer session?
As University employees why do they have to attend class? It is the same logic that lead to professionals playing in the Olympics. The Russians were putting Olympic athletes in the military and their only job was to practice for the Olympics. We will employ our football players and their only job will be to practice for our entertainment on Saturday. Our pride will require that we pay extra money to get the best players so we can beat other SEC teams. This is what has been ALLOWED to happen, but is it really what we WANT? You didn't read my post right. I'm talking about fighting back against the players being employees. As University employees why do they have to attend class? College football was modelled after the Olympics. The players were supposed to come from the student body like the club sports. Money has corrupted both the Olympics and college sports. It will only get worse as the coaches will be requesting families to sign up for automatic monthly bank deductions. Arkansas' coach has already requested this to compete with Ole Miss' collective. Get your checkbooks out!
Yes, I was just adding argument for where we came from and the direction we are heading. I agree with you. However, I think the wheels are in motion just like what happened with the Olympics. Ultimately the players are going to get their money above or below the table. They have shown that there is no kinship to any university. You didn't read my post right. I'm talking about fighting back against the players being employees.
It’s not really Cardale. It’s a fake X accountA couple things come to mind here
1) As much as we mock the student athlete moniker these days, it's easy to forget that <1% are going to go on to make it big in the pros. With that in mind, Cardale's take is pretty short-sighted, selfish one
2) For those wanting to shed the dumb jock stigma that gets attached to guys like this, this tweet just set that movement back by around 50 or so years
The truth is often funnier than fictionIt may have been intended to be a joke, but it hits close to the mark, right?
