This stat is really mind blowing and shows how historically strong the SEC is this year in basketball

With the exception of the two games against South Carolina, every one of our SEC games through the end of February is a Quad 1 game. After Saturday, our next non Quad 1 game won’t be until March 1, when we host LSU. In total, it looks like 14 of our 18 conference games will be Quad 1. That is just nuts.

It's unreal. It's almost like the snow yesterday.

As one of the announcers mentioned during our game, hopefully the SEC will not beat itself up before the tournament.
Playing this level of competition throughout the season is exhausting physically and mentally.
Similar to what may have occurred for SEC football, choke when its time for playoffs.

The SEC just wasn't as strong in football this last year as it normally is.

However, this year in basketball, we may have the best conference top to bottom of any conference in history. Yes, that includes the Big East and ACC.

My wife said at the start of the game last night that we must not be any good and I told her we are. She response was you said that when we played Kentucky and Auburn too. So every team must be good. I told her 13 conference teams were projected into the NCAA tournament, so yes, every team in the SEC is pretty good.

She shut up after that.

Y'all realize we are going to be a 5-seed, correct? I mean, has any Mississippi State thing ever been more telegraphed in history? It's setting up perfectly. Someone needs to look down the list of all likely 12-seeds in the country, pick the one with the best 3-point shooting percentage and let me know who that is so I can bet the farm on them miraculously winning a first round game in March.

Is that really a concern for basketball? It's not like it's a contact sport with a ton of injuries. Not sure if I buy that completely.

Plus, I do think SEC football was slightly down this season.

It’s not like football, but it is a thing. Younger players can just get tired legs. You make every game a grind with no real ability to take plays off, and it’s more of an issue. Finish off the season with a conference tourney where you play multiple games in a short time frame, and it’sa recipe for dead legs at the worse time.

That’s what happened to the Big East when they had all those bids. Most of them got bounced in the first two rounds.

I simply dwell in the subconscious purgatory that is Bulldog Nation.
