It was a fantastic game to watch as an impartial viewer. Funny thing is, one of the announcers said earlier in the game that the team who had the ball last would win. Turns out, he was exactly right. But I don't think he envisioned that team getting the ball with 7 seconds left and down 4 points.

If he did, he should be a betting man.

Here's a video of the game-ending. Pretty wild.

Houston scored a TD to go up 35-24 with 7:28 left in the game, putting them in seemingly comfortable position.

WVU then embarks on a do-or-die drive to score a TD, complete with a miraculous 2-point catch to make it 35-32 with 3:42 left in the game.

Houston gets the ball and sticks with running the ball to bleed the clock. WVU uses all 3 timeouts and forces a pooch punt to get the ball back at their 12 with 1:17 left in the game. They march down the field and score a TD and extra point to seemingly complete the miracle comeback, up 39-35 with 12 seconds left in the game.

WVU gets an unsportsmanlike penalty backing them up for kickoff, which Houston returns to their 43 with 7 seconds left. They throw a quick pass to the sideline, going out at WVU's 49 with 3 seconds left. Hail Mary as times runs out to win it 41-39.

West Virginia University is having a rough time lately, as a school, I mean. As for this game, that unsportsmanlike conduct penalty - the quintessence of lack of discipline, cost them the game.
